CHAMPDACTION/LABO 2017

International interdisciplinary arts project in deSingel in collaboration with EASTMAN.
From Monday 14th to Friday 18th of August 2017

 

CHAMPDACTION/LABO is the successor of the biennial project LAbO (succesfully organized 5 times these last ten years by ChampdAction in the international Arts Centre deSingel in Antwerp, gathering about 50 up to 80 talented arts students each edition).  

From 2017 on CHAMPDACTION/LABO will be organized as a summer project, on an annual base and in close collaboration with the Summer Intensive of EASTMAN, dance company of the internationally acclaimed choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

LABO  is conceived by deSingel based new music- and sound-art platform ChampdAction in collaboration with the international Arts Centre deSingel in Antwerp. Its goal is to immerse music-(both performers and writers/composers), dance- and fine arts students as well as young professional artists in the world of contemporary and multidisciplinary art forms for 5 days, with a strong emphasis on the use of new technology. They receive practical experience in an ideal and experimental setting with coaches such as Marko Ciciliani (Au), Douglas Irving Repetto (USA), Johnny Lloyd (USA), Guy Cools (B) and others.  We will work also on the central themes of the EASTMAN (company of Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui) Summer Intensive: ‘voice and body percussion’.
